The Lake House

No spoilers here.. & my sincere apologies to all readers who probably thinks that this blog is becoming a blog of movie reviews..’cos this is the 2nd movie review I’ve posted in three days.. Btw, this is posted at the request of a reader who wants to know if this movie is worth watching.

Fyi, I am a sucker for romance, especially a chick flick..

I watched this movie during my last trip to Singapore..

Sandra Bullock is re-teamed with Keanu Reeves to star in The Lake House. Hollywood copied it from a Korean movie, Il Mare (Italian for “the sea”), which was made in 2000.

I just wanna say that the plot was illogical but I still enjoyed it! It was just a beautiful story if you try not to analyse the logic in trying to get the time difference of the story etc. I took the story at its face value. I was touched by the spontaneity of being in love and wanting to share the joy together. If you wanna watch it, forget about the logic and practicality for a change. The ending was good and I like it like that.

By the way, Keanu was so hot in the movie and Sandra was as beautiful as ever. My simple verdict for this girlie movie – thumbs up!

Long Live The Pirates!

Filed under: Movies — honeydragon @ 5:39 am

Captain Jack Sparrow is back! Johnny Depp, armed with his broken compass and crazy wit; Orlando Bloom as young and brave Will Turner and Keira Knightley as the lovesick Elizabeth Swann – they are all in action in the second installment of Pirates of the Caribbean.

The movie was definitely well made despite the lack of chemistry between Elizabeth and Will. Jack with his mad ways of life (a bit over portrayed at one point), made things rather light hearted.

I’m looking forward to the next movie…but will have to bear with the suspense…as it’ll be another year before it will be released.
